Our Austin Flagship is more than just a store

It's an outlet for our R&D into new natural dye sources.

Designed by Miranda in collaboration with architects Side Angle Side and design build firm KKDW, our Austin flagship features multiple applications of woods native to the Texas Hill Country that are utilized as natural dyes in the MBS collection. With the shavings of the Pecan wood used to build our fixtures, we dyed the textiles for our curtains and other soft elements. The natural Cedar pedestals (pictured, below) were reclaimed from KKDW's property after being struck by lightning.

An incubator for new designs and natural dye formulas.

Naturally spontaneous, the non-toxic, plant-based dyes that we use create outcomes that are deliciously unpredictable. We relish the opportunity to share the products of these studio explorations and invite your feedback on nascent designs. We are here to create for you, and having a space for connecting with you around our work IRL is something we are deeply grateful for.

A community gathering space.

Since our opening in December of 2018, we have invited the Austin community into our space in the spirit of connection rather than commerce, with a commitment to amplification and inclusion.
